My motivation for creating this project was to share my understanding and appreciation of the natural world with the hope that I might inspire others to reconnect with what lies outside their front doors. This project started with the idea of building a body of work around the concept of evoking empathy for a natural world that is in great peril due to human activity. However, the concept evolved as I worked on the project. It began to deal more with ideas of change, metamorphosis, and the interconnectedness of the cycle of life.
